Full Capability Directory
Every trade from the raw framing stage through the final topcoat — coordinated under a single NJ-licensed contractor so your project runs without the gaps, delays, and finger-pointing that come from coordinating multiple separate crews.
Interior & Exterior — prep-first approach, premium products, lasting results
Interior painting is a process that demands patience before a brush is ever lifted. Our crew begins every interior project by washing surfaces with TSP solution, filling all nail holes and hairline cracks, sanding glossy surfaces for adhesion, caulking every gap at trim and ceiling lines, and taping and masking everything that doesn't get painted — including outlets, fixtures, hardware, and floors. We apply a premium primer where surface conditions require it, then deliver two full coats of topcoat in the selected sheen. Cut lines at crown, ceiling, baseboard, and trim are done by brush with zero tape creep. The result is a clean, consistent finish in every light condition.
New Jersey's climate cycle — freeze-thaw winters, humid summers, and salt air near the Shore — demands exterior coatings that are properly prepared and product-matched to substrate. Our exterior process includes thorough pressure washing, dwell time for proper drying, scraping all peeling or failed coating back to bare substrate, hand sanding, spot-priming exposed wood and masonry, caulking all penetrations and seams against moisture infiltration, and applying two coats of a premium exterior coating suited to the specific material. We document all products used and provide material spec sheets upon request. On Shore and waterfront properties, we use elevated-performance coatings rated for high UV and salt environments.
Full gut remodels and structural additions managed start to finish
A genuine kitchen remodel goes well beyond new appliances and cabinet doors. It begins with demolition — stripping the room to its bare framing to expose conditions that a surface-level renovation would simply bury. We rebuild the structural framework where needed, coordinate plumbing and electrical rough-in timing, install cement backer and tile, hang and finish Level-5 drywall on all non-tile surfaces, spray-refinish or replace cabinetry, install new flooring, and execute the final paint and trim package. Every phase is sequenced to avoid backtracking, rework, and the costly delays that occur when separate trades don't coordinate.
Bathroom remodels are compact but technically demanding — waterproofing must be correct the first time, or moisture infiltration causes structural damage within years. We install full waterproofing membrane systems behind all tile work, use Schluter profiles for clean tile transitions, and ensure proper slope in shower floors before any tile is laid. Full home renovations are treated as sequenced multi-room projects with phased scheduling that minimizes disruption across the property. We've successfully completed multi-room whole-home remodels in occupied residences while maintaining livability in non-active zones daily.
New walls, beam work, room additions, and load-bearing removals under one NJ license
Structural work is where most painting contractors stop and where HRF begins. The Perez family trained specifically in framing and structural construction because they understood that painting over a poorly framed or damaged substrate produces poor results no matter how skilled the painter. Our structural framing capabilities include new interior partition walls, room additions that tie into existing foundation systems, wall removal with LVL and steel beam installation, and the full sequence of rough-in work that follows a structural change.
All structural work is performed under our NJ HIC license. When structural engineering is required (beam sizing, load calculations), we coordinate with licensed engineers and ensure permit compliance throughout. You get a single responsible party for the entire scope.
The 2-in-1 advantage is most visible here: when we frame the addition, hang the drywall, and paint the room, there is no gap between those trades. High-lumen inspection before paint is applied — not just assumed — because we built the substrate ourselves.
From Level 3 standard to Level 5 premium — walls that reveal nothing under raking light
Full board installation including large-format 5/8" Type X for fire-rated assemblies, standard 1/2" for interior walls, and moisture-resistant board for bathrooms and laundry areas. Seams are taped and bedded in three progressive coats — each allowed proper dry time — for a surface with no ridges, bubbles, or visible fasteners.
Level-5 is the standard for any room that will receive gloss or semi-gloss paint, or any space where lighting conditions will reveal surface imperfections. A full-surface skim coat is applied in thin, feathered passes across the entire wall — not just over seams — creating a perfectly flat plane. Before any topcoat is approved, the walls are inspected under high-lumen raking light. If we find an imperfection, we fix it rather than paint over it.
Older homes in communities like Haddonfield, Moorestown, and the historic districts of Cape May often have original plaster walls with cracks, impact damage, or delamination. We repair plaster using traditional lime-based materials or modern high-build compounds matched to the original texture profile — so repairs are invisible after paint rather than announcing themselves as patches.
Dustless factory-grade polyurethane finish — transforms cabinets without replacement cost
Cabinet replacement represents one of the largest budget line items in any kitchen renovation — often $20,000–$60,000 for a full kitchen. Our dustless spray refinishing process delivers a surface finish that is visually and functionally indistinguishable from factory-new cabinetry. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are removed, tagged for exact reinstallation position, degreased, lightly abraded for maximum adhesion, cleaned, and transported to a controlled spray environment completely free from household dust. In the shop, they receive a bonding primer followed by two coats of rock-hard polyurethane topcoat applied through an HVLP system at calibrated pressure settings. The result is a mirror-smooth, brush-mark-free finish in any color from any manufacturer's palette.
The polyurethane topcoat we use is significantly harder and more chemical-resistant than standard latex cabinet paints — it handles daily grease splatter, cleaning products, and the mechanical abuse of a busy kitchen without chipping, peeling, or yellowing. We offer full two-tone kitchen packages (navy island / white perimeter is our most requested combination), single-tone full kitchens, and bathroom vanity refinishing.
Engineered hardwood, LVP, custom tile, and high-durability epoxy systems
Nail-down and glue-down installation with proper acclimation periods and expansion gap compliance. Stair nosing and threshold transitions finished to match. Recommended for above-grade living areas where solid hardwood may not be appropriate.
Nail-down · Glue-down · Stair nosingWaterproof floating LVP installation with careful seam alignment, consistent reveal around cabinets and islands, and proper underlayment selection for acoustic performance and subfloor irregularity. Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and below-grade spaces.
Floating · Waterproof · Full-house continuityLarge-format porcelain, classic ceramic, natural stone, and designer mosaic tile installation. We laser-level subfloors before any tile is laid, use large-format troweling techniques for proper mortar coverage, and calibrate grout joints with precision spacers. Full waterproofing membrane installed in all wet areas.
Kitchen · Bath · Foyer · Shower · OutdoorHigh-durability epoxy coating systems for garages, basements, commercial warehouse floors, and industrial spaces. Diamond-grind surface preparation, moisture vapor barrier, colored base coat, optional decorative broadcast (flake or metallic), and clear polyaspartic topcoat for maximum chemical and abrasion resistance.
Garage · Basement · Commercial warehouseCrown molding, trim, wainscoting, stair refinishing, and deck staining
Crown molding, baseboard, door and window casing, chair rail, and picture rail installed with coped inside corners, mitered outside corners, and consistent reveals. We work with both paint-grade MDF profiles and stain-grade hardwood depending on project requirements.
Stair treads, risers, handrails, newel posts, and balusters refinished in custom stain colors and protective topcoats. We restore worn stair systems to like-new condition without replacement, maintaining original profiles while achieving a uniform, durable finish throughout the entire stair assembly.
Board-and-batten, raised panel, shiplap, and traditional wainscoting installed with plumb, level, and square precision. Wall paneling dramatically elevates dining rooms, entryways, hallways, and primary bedrooms at a cost far below full renovation work.
Deck staining begins with pressure washing, brightening, and full dry time — then the right penetrating or film-forming stain for the wood species and exposure level. We also perform custom wood staining on interior wood elements: stair treads, built-ins, paneling, and architectural millwork.
Built-in bookshelves, window seats, mudroom lockers, and custom millwork elements fabricated and installed to your specifications. These pieces are finished in the same factory-grade spray process as our cabinet refinishing work — a level of quality impossible to achieve with brush-and-roller application on site.
Siding installation, protective coatings, and exterior wood refinishing
New siding installation or partial replacement using fiber cement (James Hardie), vinyl, and cedar products. We remove existing failed siding, inspect and repair sheathing and housewrap as needed, install new material to manufacturer specifications, and prime and paint fiber cement to the client's specification. Proper integration with window and door casings is critical for long-term weather resistance — we flash and caulk every penetration to a professional waterproofing standard.
Properly maintained wood decks last 20–30 years. Improperly coated decks fail in 2–3. The difference is entirely in the preparation — and how well the coating is matched to the wood species, current condition, and exposure environment. We clean, brighten, and fully dry decks before any stain is applied. Stain and coating products are selected based on your wood's porosity, existing coating condition, and the level of traffic and UV exposure. Shore properties receive products specifically formulated for high-UV and moisture environments.
Whether you need one service or all fourteen, every HRF project starts with an honest conversation about scope, timeline, and budget. No pressure. No inflated estimates designed to be negotiated down.
